Chess is more than just a game; it is an intellectual pastime that enhances logical thinking and visual memory. With deep roots in history, chess has withstood the test of time, solidifying its position as one of the oldest and most respected strategy games in the world.

The primary objective of this strategic game is to achieve checkmate, where the opponent's king is inevitably captured, signifying the end of the game.

Piece movements:
<ol>
 <li>Pawns: Move one square forward or two squares on the first move.</li>
 <li>Knight: Moves two squares vertically and one horizontally or vice versa.</li>
 <li>Bishop: Moves diagonally any number of squares.</li>
 <li>Rook: Moves vertically or horizontally one or more squares.</li>
 <li>Queen: Can move any distance either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.</li>
 <li>King: Moves one square in any direction.</li>
</ol>

Game rules:
The rules adhere to the orthodox regulations of chess. All pieces adhere to standard and internationally recognized rules. Players can choose various difficulty levels, progressing from easier to more challenging options, expanding their skills at different levels. The game also supports multiplayer mode for two-person gameplay, allowing players to compete against each other with alternating moves.

Players have the flexibility to customize the chessboard and table design preferences and toggle sound effects on or off during gameplay. Additionally, the game offers manual and automatic save features for ongoing matches.

Key Game Endings:
<ol>
 <li>Checkmate: Occurs when a player's king is under threat with no available moves to escape from capture.</li>
 <li>Stalemate (Pat): Ends in a draw when a player has no legal moves and is not in check.</li>
 <li>Draw conditions include scenarios where insufficient pieces remain for checkmate:
 <ul>
 <li>- King versus king and bishop;</li>
 <li>- King versus king and knight;</li>
 <li>- King and bishop versus king and bishop (where bishops are on squares of the same color).</li>
 </ul>
 </li>
</ol>

Castling involves the king and rook and can only be executed when no pieces lie between them. The king moves two squares to either side and then allows the rook to occupy the adjacent square that the king traverses.

Castling restrictions encompass situations where:
<ul>
 <li>- The king or rook have been previously moved;</li>
 <li>- The king is in check;</li>
 <li>- The path to castle would place the king in check.</li>
</ul>
